#33: Creator Economy Takes the Miracle of Compounding to the Next Level

Updated: Aug 16, 2021

Thanks to the connectivity afforded by the social web, the miracle of compounding can be realized in many exciting ways.

Some of which are heightened / accelerated and others that might not have really been possible until recently.

The below is inspired by Shane Parrish, Jack Butcher, Paul Graham, James Clear and Naval. Relevant tweets of theirs can be found in the Twitter thread.

  1. Focus

  2. Solve the right problem(s).

  3. Saying yes to one thing is saying no to everything else. Never underestimate the global population of people / companies looking for you.

  4. Process

  5. Achieving daily, weekly, monthly goals is good but your process is your edge as it's what generates your goals.

  6. Investing in your process is great.

  7. While you're at it, maybe build-in-public to accelerate its development?

  8. Writing

  9. Writing brings you a clarity of thinking that's hard to replicate.

  10. Less is more as the more straightforward you can make the complex, the better.

  11. See #1 as it's also a magnet for opportunities.

  12. Learning

  13. I don't know how to describe the magnitude of what you can learn on Twitter.

  14. Stay curious, invest in your feedback loops and make sure your learning is deliberate, includes doing, iterating etc.

  15. Toggling

  16. Given #1-4 above, the compounding that results from each individually is accelerated by your ability to toggle.

  17. Thinking vs doing vs reflecting.

  18. Deep work vs busy work. Allocating your good hours vs less than good hours (i.e. multi-tasking) on the most important challenges / opportunities etc.
