#24: If You Aren't Sold on Clubhouse, Read This

Updated: Aug 16, 2021

The magic of Clubhouse ties to the way it enables like-minded people with a shared purpose / intent to come together and focus on the "We" more so than the "I".

Tonight at 7pm is round 2 of "Sports Industry: Getting in, Getting ahead + Giving back".

To make the magic real, I wanted to "build in public" around this room to share the massive potential Clubhouse enables.

  1. Get your intent right

    1. Returning to the Sports + Entertainment space has been amazing.

    2. The thing I missed the most about being in the space was the impact you can have when you work with like-minded ballplayers / artists, like-minded brands and like-minded leaders.

    3. Building a room dedicated to helping folks get in, get ahead and give back literally attracted a staggering number of like-minded people which gives me the chills to think about what's possible with this group of rockstars.

  2. Play the "infinite game"

    1. This is not a room for transactional people.

    2. This is a room for people committed to the infinite game.

    3. This is your craft, your community, your industry, your world and this is what we do.

    4. Make the pie bigger for everyone and have fun while you're doing it. We don't keep score because there's no need.

    5. This is the ultimate long-game.

  3. Create actionable value

    1. Tonight, we're going build in public by building out an actionable framework for Mentor vs Advocate.

    2. Given the power of the idea (shout out to you know who you are that brought it to the room), we're going to build an actionable framework for how leaders can pilot this initiative in their organizations.

    3. We're also going to lean into the "Getting Ahead" bit aka skillset development, cultivating subject matter expertise, recovering from mistakes, embracing emerging tech etc to help people improve how they do what they do, their productivity, happiness quotient etc.

  4. Make you own luck

    1. For as long as I can remember, friends of mine on the brand marketing side have asked me for help getting involved with the Street Art community.

    2. My answer has always been the same. "You have no idea how much I would LOVE to help you but what you're asking for is a Creative Agency that REALLY understands the Street Art community...I don't know one, but I WISH I did!"

    3. Thanks to last week's room, one of the speakers that joined is the founder of exactly that kind of Creative Agency.

    4. We had an incredible 90 minute call yesterday getting to know each other. To say I'm excited is a massive understatement.

    5. Thanks to crypto / NFTs, Street Artists are about to participate in the value they create in a much bigger way. It's on.
